What types of Leagues Do We Offer?

At Rush Girls Flag Football, we are proud to present 2 leagues tailored to meet the needs of our participants.

**Recreational League**

For all Girls & Boys, our Recreational League fosters a fun and inclusive environment for everyone

- Practice once a week at a local field

- Games once a week in Kennett Square (8 game schedule including playoffs)

-Jersey, Flags & Pinnies Included

**Competitive League**

For those seeking a higher level of play, we offer a Competitive League that includes divisions for

High School and 14U Girls (more tournament teams available this coming Spring '26)

-Practice 2-3 times a week in preperation of 3 local tournaments for the fall season

-Custom Jerseys, Flags, Practice Pinnies & Professional Photography

This league is designed for players who wish to elevate their game and compete at a more intense level.

We invite everyone to join us in promoting the spirit of teamwork, athleticism, and personal growth through our leagues. Whether you are looking to play recreationally or competitively, Rush Girls Flag Football has a place for you.

How do I sign up?

For the Recreational League:

Register directly on our website. The cost for the season is $165, which includes a jersey, flags and practice pinnie. Late registration is avaiable at a higher cost.

For the Competitive League:

To join, please register for our recreational league. Once the season begins; athletes will be selected to form age-based tournament teams.

What Happens if I Don't Qualify for the Competitive Team?

If you do not qualify for one of our Competitive Teams, you are encouraged to continue participating in our Recreational League. This is a great opportunity to continue developing your skills, building confidence, and preparing to try out for a tournament team in the future.

There are always new opportunities for athletes who continue to work hard and improve.

Can I Participate in Both the Competitive and Recreational Leagues?

YES

You are permitted to participate in both leagues. However, it is important to note that full Competitive teams are not eligible to register as a unit in the Recreational League. Competitive players engaging in the Recreational League will be systematically allocated among the recreational teams to ensure a balanced and fair playing experience for all participants.

Where are Games and Scrimmages?

All Games and Scrimmages will be in Kennett Square, PA or in the surrounding area.

What Areas Do You Serve?

Rush Flag Football serves Chester County, PA; Delaware Country, PA; New Castle County, DE.

We currently have practices fields available in municipalities across Chester County & Delaware County Areas, including but not limited to Kennett Square, West Chester, Garnet Valley, Avon Grove, & Media.

When and Where are Practices?

Rush Flag Football is committed to organizing practices that effectively accommodate the preferences & schedules of our players, teams, and coaches. We strive for transparency. During the registration, participants have the opportunity to indicate their preferred location and day of the week for practice sessions.

Volunteer Coaches get to choose the day, time, and location of their team's practice. The league reserves fields most nights of the week in municipalities across the Chester County / Delaware County Area. Rosters will be formed by our volunteer commissioner; who will try to group teams by schools and coaches' practice locations. Your coach will provide practice information at least one week before the first game. We ask for your flexibility as numbers never work out perfectly. Please make a note during registration if there is a night of the week that you absolutely cannot make practice.

Do Player's Have to Play in NFL Flag in Order to Participate in Tournaments?

NO

The Tournaments that Rush Flag Football participate in are FFL Tournaments and you do not need to have any affiliation with NFL Flag.

Is Rush Flag Football a Non-Profit Organization?

Rush Flag Football operates as a not-for-profit organization. This means that any excess funds generated through registration fees will be directly reinvested into the program, specifically to provide gear and merchandise for both players and coaches.

Who Owns Rush Flag Football?

Rush Flag Football is proudly owned and operated by Nicole Farrell, the current High School Division Girls Flag Football Coach. Over the past few years, Nicole has been a driving force in expanding girls flag football across the Kennett Square, West Chester, and Garnet Valley communities. Through her vision and tireless volunteer efforts, she has helped shape and elevate the sport at the local level.

Nicole founded Rush Flag Football with the mission to create opportunities for young female athletes to develop their skills, build confidence, and compete in a supportive environment.

Nicole’s unwavering commitment and countless volunteer hours have made a lasting impact on the lives of young athletes and the growth of girls flag football in the region.

Who can register for Rush Flag Football?

Rush Flag Football is open to boys and girls across multiple age divisions, from youth through high school. Players of all experience levels are welcome—no prior football experience is required.

How are age divisions determined?

Age divisions are based on a set cutoff date for each season. Tournament play follows strict age verification, while recreational divisions may allow limited flexibility when ages are close, based on parent discretion and what best suits the child’s size and skill level. Is Rush Flag Football recreational or competitive?

Rush offers both recreational leagues focused on development and fun, as well as competitive opportunities for players seeking higher-level play and tournament experiences.

When does the season run?

Season dates vary by program. Specific start dates, game schedules, and playoff information are posted on the league & schedule page each season.

How many practices and games are there?

Most rec teams practice once per week and play one game per week. Some divisions may have a few practices before games begin. Competitive teams practice a few times per week.

Where are games and practices held?

Games and practices are held at local fields. Locations will be communicated once teams are formed and schedules are finalized.

What equipment is required?

Players should wear athletic clothing, cleats (recommended), and a mouthguard (optional for rec / required for tournaments). Flags and team jerseys are provided by Rush Flag Football.

Who coaches the teams?

Teams are coached by trained volunteer coaches who emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, and confidence. All coaches are required to follow Rush’s code of conduct and are encouraged to complete our USA Football Certified Flag Football Training course.

Is flag football safe?

Yes. Flag football is a non-contact sport. Blocking and tackling are not allowed, and safety rules are strictly enforced by referees.

Do you offer girls-only divisions?

Yes. Rush Flag Football is proudly based from girls-only divisions at multiple age levels, providing a supportive environment for girls to learn, compete, and grow in the sport.

What happens if games are canceled due to weather?

Weather-related cancellations or changes will be communicated promptly via email and league communication platforms (LeagueApps).

Can I request a teammate or coach?

Teammate and coach requests can be made during registration. While not guaranteed, Rush does its best to accommodate requests when possible.

What is your refund policy?

Rush Flag Football will either honor a credit toward a future season or offer a refund minus the processing fees that Rush incurs during registration.

How will I receive league updates?

All schedules, updates, and announcements are sent via email and league communication tools. Please ensure your contact information is accurate at registration.
